no, there's a bug in the game where you can bet 60 gold, and if you win you actually get 600 gold, but if you lose you only lose 60.

Select the highest betting game you have unlocked (e.g. fairly low min bid, very high max bid).
Select the lowest amount to bid then deal, keep tapping LB as the first 2 rows are issued until the bid changes to max.
When you win/lose, it will now be based on your minimum bid.
Therefore you win mass amounts of gold and become wealthy fairly quickly. I did it but I don't plan on abusing it, it helped me get out of debt, make a little profit, and now I'm done with the game.
