This rumor comes from the same people who broke the news about a XBLA Batman game (Imposters) a couple of months ago. These guys claim that they have the screen caps but will not release them as of yet.
At the rate it took Remedy they first time around Alan Wake 2 coming May 17 2015, coincidentally the same day Red Dead Redemption 3 will be coming out.

Most of that time was spent re-writing the engine. Have you seen how many changes Alan Wake has gone over before it was released? They optimized the shit out of it and did a hell of a good job with it, it's one of the best looking games this generation.
My point is, that since they are much more familiar with the hardware and have the engine down they can get games out faster. Unless this new Alan Wake turns out to be a totally different type of game... in which case I have no idea what to say :P
I think Alan Wake would be great for an XBLA release, especially if they did it episodically like the way they did Fable 2's XBLA release. AW's style of storytelling lends itself really well to that.

Doubt it. You don't throw that kind of time and $$ into the game's engine without intending to do something more with it. Granted, they could probably sell it to other publishers/developers, but if it's proprietary I'm guessing they're going to do something with it.
Can't imagine what this game could look like. Would be very hard to carry any elements essential to the Alan Wake experience into an XBLA game. Hope its not something like that Dead Space XBLA game...that's totally not something the world (and also the Alan Wake franchise) needs. Still looking forward to what it will be. Maybe they will surprise me.
