Don't know why it isn't showing my first post. Must be my browser.
The concept videos look too good to be true and in my experience when tech looks too good to be true- thats probably the case. Curious what your prediction is.
Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 is the second game console produced by Microsoft Corporation and is the successor to the original Xbox.
Will Natal actually work as advertised?
In terms of what?
I think it will be a perfectly functional motion sensor.
In terms of the Milo thing, is that natal or more of an AI based thing?
And from what I've seen, yes, it'll work as to how fun or useful it'll be that's questionable, to me it seems like a high quality eye toy, and why would I ever need one of those?
And on evaluation I picked C, because I think it'll work, but you'll have to compensate for certain things if it were to be used in a more practical manner. I.e. in an FPS, for commands you'd be sat down playing an FPS, but you'd have to be sat in such a way that you're able to make the movements.
@Jeffsekai: There's still been a tonne of demos, maybe not of the final product, but enough to make an impression.
" I think its way to early for this type of thing. That is this topic..not Natal "Hense why I say 'predictions'. Of course nobody knows yet- I just want to know what you expect.
Not that I really give a toss about Natal- I doubt it'll work.
" In terms of what?In terms of Natal- not some random software for it.

yeah it'll work but it will be like the motion plus or balance board or wii speak
as in being really hot for like two months and then everyone will go back to playing games normally .
I used a lot of the PS2 EyeToy (is there one for the PS3?) and my experience with it is what I based option C on. It was pain to get the lighting right, but it did work when got it the room sorted correctly. You needed a good amount of space too in shot of the camera and it had to be at the right level. Demanding- but it worked perfectly well and I loved it for parties." @MysteriousBob: In that case, yes it'll work. Everything shown of it in relation to that part works, obviously it's probably selected footage, and practiced events but even then, the eyetoy works for what it is and that's not the most advanced of things. "
To quote a developer from Eurogamer:
" Got to to toy around with some new Unreal Engine powered Natal demo's today. Surprised to see Epic go all out to support the Natal with it's engine tech, Microsoft have pretty much positioned it as the unofficial official natal game engine now.
One of the demonstrations is really awesome, it's hard to go back to playing the Gears of War games without being able to do it (can't go into details). The best example I can give is how my kids can't play mario kart on the DS because they keep trying to rotate the DS to steer, sometimes something just feels right and it becomes common sense, and after that gets inprinted into your brain it feels wrong to do it any other way.
The more I toy with it the more I think they're going to have to also refresh the joypad. They had one demo where you have a shield which you hold with your hand (just make a fist and wave it about) and it deflects projectiles etc, but the pad is neither weighted for one handed usage, or really that usable (one analogue stick cripples you somewhat in an FPS). They need to make the pad split into two or something so you can still hold it while waving imaginary shit around. Nintendo had the right idea with the nun-chuck."
" To quote a developer from Eurogamer:While I don't question their testimony, I do have to bring up option C. For a developer demo they would have ensured that the room was perfect. Will it be that practical in people's homes?

I do find that testimony a very good sign though. Even if I'm not interested in it as a gamer, I am interested in as a tech-nut. I can't even understand how this is supposed to work.
" Few things rarely do "What sort of statement is that? My toaster works fine. This chair I'm sitting in is fine. Care to be more specific?
" Microsoft's New Camera is will do all right. "I don't know how you can describe Natal as just a camera.
XBox Live Vision is a camera. A device that can read your body movements may contain a camera or even be based around a camera but it is much more than just "a new camera".
The gist of it is. Also I don't like calling it Natal as it's still in codename stage. For me it's like saying that if if Windows 7 was just called Blackcomb or Vienna and everybody preferred that." @ThePhantomnaut said:

Did you get as pissed off when people call the Wii the Nintendo Revolution?

Call me paranoid...but doesn't anyone this it's a bit creepy that it has facial and voice recognition? I think this is a bit much for gaming.
Also, controllers have been the most integral parts of gaming systems since "back in the day". Until I've seen it in action and it proves me wrong, I don't plan on buying one.
