Cut out the non-exclusives. Cut out the sports. Cut out the casual/kids... and there's nothing really left.
When you take out all the game, there are no games left :(.
Platform »
Probably an okay line-up...if it would release in Scandinavia this year :-) But it's not. PS4 gets lots more customers and Wii U eats up the rest with Mario and a lot of other great games releasing this fall/winter. Microsoft, I'm not sure Xbox One will be a platform for all the world, it's a platform for USA and maybe Great Britain.
Nope. Not one of those titles is better than Brothers.
Yep, Brad has finally won.
I'm confused. At what point did launch games ever sell a system? I've never bough a system for 1 or 2 games that came out the same day the system did... that just seems so... uh... dumb? If you don't have faith in the industry, don't buy a console. The rest of us will look forward to another 7-8 years of super awesome games.
Sony and MS both have unannounced games to be presented at TGS. Not sure those TGS titles will be available for launch though.
Love my good original indies that aren't pretentious hipsters about themselves but christ those are a lot of indies on the PS4..
I love how they named dropped Phil Fish and Fez coming to Vita for all of 5 seconds then never mentioned it again.
There isn't a game on either list that isn't also coming out on PC that I care about, why did I preorder again?
@gamer_152: Is there a way I can play the ship battles of Black Flag without having to play the rest of the game? Played 1-3 including Revelations, Brotherhood and I'm just burned out on the series.
Gonna have to wait until inFamous, that's the only big game i'm interested in on PS4 other than Knack. (Just in time for my WiiU to build up a real live library)
XBox has historically always had an okay (at least, not downright offensive) launch lineup with at least one must-have. Halo on the OG Box, Call of Duty 2 on the 360. The XBone sort of lacks anything I'm as excited about as I was for the previous two consoles. CoD is far too played out, and BF4 is something I'll probably just get for PC later on down the line. Forza I'm sure will be nice but is too niche of a game. Watch Dogs may turn out to be the most exciting, but that's not an exclusive either, so...feh.
Sony doesn't offer anything worth noting that's not also on the XBone. Bring on 2014.

I got pretty burned out too; I deliberately didn't play III for that reason. I probably wouldn't be on board for IV, but I have a bit of a weakness for pirates.
Xbox 180 seems to have a better launch line up.
Pretty crazy that we have a console launch with some big franchise titles on day one. Usually it's just all garbage.
Does DriveClub actually have a hashtag in the name? Son of a bitch.
It does not, no. That was just a Twitter thing and now everyone seems to be confused.
Watchdogs is the only game of the bunch I have even an inkling to play and I can get that for my PC. I'm not saying it's a bad line up, just there isn't much for me. No RPGs yet, so I'll be waiting until the New Year for a next gen console.
Having gone off FPS in recent years nothing really jumps out at me at all. Lego, Skylanders and Just Dance are really, really not aimed at my demographic and outside of FIFA I'm not interested in any of the sports games.
Watch_Dogs, ACIV and a new FIFA are the titles that appeal to me most. But given they are all coming on the existing consoles, are they really going to be improved enough to justify the purchase of a whole new console? I haven't really seen anything that shows the difference between the versions and I'm still skeptical of ACIV after ACIII.
That leaves DriveClub, which I'll get to try out at a PS+ member and so won't be pre-ordering that although I'm hoping it turns out to be great.
There are certainly games coming up which I'm really looking forward to - particularly Witcher 3 but the launch titles aren't making me impatient for launch.
Removing the sports, the games also releasing on PC, and the party games and...
-Dead Rising 3
- Killer Instinct
- Ryse Son of Rome
Of those, KI depends on friends picking it up as well, so Ryse would probably be my pick. However, since I like games on both platforms, I will choose the $100 cheaper PS4 during a busy November, and pick up the One in Feb. or March 2014.
So based on this I've narrowed down which next gen console to get this holiday to two.
Hint: It's not an MS or Sony console. One is a handheld and both have good games out or coming soon.
These lists are fairly underwhelming. I was all caught up in the new console hype, but just looking at these two lists... maybe I'll just wait a while.
It's weird to hear people talking about which console they are going to get when you look at the launch games the only question that comes to my mind is why I would want either of them.
I was so happy when this guy jumped in the air like that.
I was like:

I will probably get NFS:Rivals (Which looks surprisingly good if they can get the framerate up), Watch_dogs, Killzone:Shadowfall, Knack on PS4, and Crimson Dragon + Dead Rising 3 on Xbox One.
(I might also buy the full version of Drive Club depending on how good the PS+ version is)
Both have pretty good launch lineups, from the look at it.
I'm excited as all hell for November.
Pretty good line up IMO
Way better than the 360's Launch
Sure, the 360 lineup was pretty rad for me at the time though, and I didn't even play Condemned (just the demo, which I thought was rad but scarey and I'm a big wimp). I adored Project Gotham Racing 3, Amped 3, and Perfect Dark Zero and Call of Duty 2. Yea in retrospect not the best games... but dude you only need like 1-2 games for launch that you enjoy, the rest comes soon after and this year particular seems to be set up for that also (tons of 2014 games that look very rad to me). Watch Dogs is THE game for me right now and I'm glad it's so close to launch, on launch day it seems they are saying now (why no day one edition guys... I get that it may have not been clear up till now but that shit is so stupid and small... just like an avatar item and a skin or something BS... just throw that shit in there lol... make me feel special!!!).
Definitely 'more' games on the Xbox One this time around, though honestly I just care about that one magical game and the rest are looking great but... I could care less (back in the day I'd rent those games... these days I just don't play them usually). Tons of sports games too it seems, lots more games on the list this time round where I can see they are likely to be good games but my interest in them has dropped, like forza and dead rising for example... look like they will be rad games but I kinda went through my racing games back on the xbox and 360, and now I really JUST care about codemaster dirt games at best... or a new project gotham... *squints eyes.
Despite just finishing a gaming rig I'm still stoked to have a PS4 on launch day. I'm in the weird position now of figuring out what system to buy some games on. Also as I have a PC I can play Titan Fall just fine next year.
I really wish there was a solid RPG at launch for the XBox One that I could plug 100+ hours into to keep me occupied well into 2014. I held off on the 360 until Morrowind was released for that exact reason. While I am looking forward to the new dashboard features and finally trying out the kinect, the games I am most looking forward to this fall are GTAV (360), Beyond: Two Souls (PS3) and the Stick of Truth (360). Ill keep an eye on Ryse but I am leaning towards Watch_Dogs.
I am also interested in what MS and Sony may do to ensure people don't cancel pre-orders of their system. I suspect many people have pre-ordered both with the intent of only picking up one at launch. I would have been psyched if MS had announced FIFA for the US.
