@evilnights: I'm not complaining about the term xbone. I'm just curious as to how everyone plans to vocalize the system name.

Xbox. My friends and I simply call ours 360s xbox and why bother changing that. Xbox has become a Brand Name really.

I was about 50/50 calling the 360 'Xbox' and '360' because it (360) was uncommon enough to work as a name.

Xbone, Xbox One isn't even shortening the name, and Xbox is already taken by the Xbox.

I'm pretty happy with XBO closely followed by xbone. Don't see that changing unless MS starts using a shortened name of their own.

Honestly, just Xbox. No one will be confused.

I've tried using just Xbox already and it's started confusing and annoying conversations. So XBone. Yeah you could say well just wait until the x360 isn't as relevant. But hey, convince me the Xbone will be relevant then too. Right now I don't think that's a given.

Actually, its just gonna be Xbox. But in the beginning, when it launches, itll be the new xbox. But after that, XBOX.

It seems to me that Xbone has the most traction from this poll and from the use of the word around the internet. I'm calling it Xbone until something else becomes more common, or just forever.

At first I'll call it Xbox one. As far as a nicknames/short hand goes, I won't know until were into the next generation and it feels natural. I'm personally not obsessed with calling it "xbox" or "the xbox" like a lot of people seem to be. I'm not sure why so many are so eager to confuse the mindspace of hardware just because apple does it. If every console were called "the xbox" or "the playstation", you would have to constantly differentiate which system you were actually talking about. It's just like when you have to tack on a number to the Ipad in conversation because they're all called the same fucking thing. I guess you can chalk it up to the west coast gaming/tech media's obsession with Apple. I'm not into it. That being said, I'm not sold on shortening it to "the one" either. Like I said before, we'll just have to wait and see what comes natural when the generation gets kicking.

That's what I'm talking about. Xbone will eventually die the horrible fiery and bloody death it deserves. For now, everyone thinks it's cute.

This basically, I've already had conversations with people and once it's established we are talking about the Xbox One we just end up calling it the Xbox.

I'll just call it Xbox, obviously you'll have to refer to it as Xbox One whenever going to a store as they would simply confuse it with the 360.

Xbone, not for any inflammatory reason - just because then it's very clear which one I'm talking about without having to expend that precious extra syllable.
