An RPG developed by Monolith Soft, for Wii and New Nintendo 3DS. Two great civilizations that live on the vast bodies of slain deities have been at war for aeons, and now with the development of a dangerous superweapon, things are finally coming to a head.
That being said, I'm playing through Xenoblade Chronicles for the first time ever thanks to Dolphin with a wireless 360 controller. What a great game so far, and it looks fantastic on PC.
I think it all depends on what form their next handheld takes. Pretty much every new Nintendo handheld has been at least backward compatible with the previous generation. If their next handheld is capable of it I'd say chances are high. However, if they decide to do away with the dual-screens next time for whatever reason then obviously they wouldn't bother including it.
I really think you're better off playing the Wii version of Xenoblade though. I've seen nothing to suggest it benefits from being on a handheld.
Nintendo does backwards compatibility right, so there's a very good chance you will be able to play it on the next iteration. I was silly and shelled $200 forthe new 3ds,though mostly for the improved 3d, cstick, and the fact my old one's kinda beat up. Prob still a waste in the long run but oh well.
@creepingdeath0: It isn't that difficult to set up. The trickiest part was getting my Xbox 360 controller configured properly, but once I understood the menus and what I was looking at, it was a breeze. Most of the settings can be left at default, then you can play around with resolution and scale it up and add as much AA/AF as your PC can handle. I also installed an HD Texture Pack to improve the look of the game more, and I also installed an Xbox 360 controller button pack so all of the in-game menus and prompts have Xbox buttons instead of Wii buttons.
I'm even using Steam In-Home streaming with Dolphin and it works fine.
@mb: Weirdly enough I've been doing the same thing; it's been a joy so far. I'm curious, though, what were your issues getting used to using a 360 controller? Set to the classic controller settings there's not much trouble adapting buttons.
@marokai: I was using the initial Emulated Wiimote screen and didn't realize I had to select Classic from the drop-down menu and then configure that separately.
