    Will i need to play the first games?

    Will i need to play the first games ( Yakuza 1 & 2 ) to fully enjoy this one? 
    Im downloading the demo now, i loved shenmue, and this sounds awesome.

    I posed the same question to some Yakuza crazy friends recently and it seems the the full game will give you enough backstory to enjoy the third one without playing the first 2.

    If it goes in the same style as the second game you won't. In the second game they had a very detailed optional flashback of the first game incase you didn't play it.

    I didn't and I don't feel like i'm losing much. There is two videos that you can watch early on that are summaries of the first two games anyway.
