Boy I can't imagine any of that video chat stuff making it outside of Japan.
But yeah, this looks amazing. I want to see more.
The Yakuza games are so, so good. I know they aren't as popular overseas, but I wish more people would give them a chance. I have enjoyed every single one.
The gameplay is always a good time, and the story is usually very intruiging. They are insane and funny in the right way. I really can't say enough good things about em.
Taking phone selfies where ghosts can appear in them is such a beautiful expression of "what if Japan made their own GTA 5?"
Lost my shit at both the digital cats and Kazuma typing to real video of Japanese cam girls. Glorious.
Anyone know if this awesome bullshit is coming westward at any point? Specifically to the UK?
They take their sweet time, but every major Yakuza release has made it westward so far, and Yakuza 0 is even coming early next year. Not expecting to hear any confirmation until at least after 0 is out though.
Even though the last Yakuza game I actually finished was 2, I'm praying that this gets an English release.
I must at least start 5 some time, but it means unmothballing the PS3.
@veektarius: Yes, they do! When I went to Japan, lots of cases for Japanese made phones like Sony. Nothing for my Samsung s5.
Obviously its in the game because they work with Sony and only come out on Playstation.
...I should really play one of these games, huh? I started laughing uncontrollably around the creepy FMV webcam chat and the baby holding minigame.

My first thought also. But boy I sure hope it does... For... reasons...
If the combat feel is as much improved as the visual flow that`s awesome. I can`t wait to play the english release in 2020.
If anything, it looks similar to 0, so we might get a sampler around that.
Do Japanese people really use Sony phones?
I don't know abut Japan but Sony is fairly popular here in Sweden. I don't know if it is a heritage from them buying Ericsson that was the biggest brand here in Sweden since it was a Swedish brand but many people still like them. Samsung is by far the most popular Android phone though.
This looks freaking great. I still need to play 5, but this looks like it's on some next level shit. Can't wait!!
I fucking lost it when I saw the "Cat Friendship" meter. Take that, Nintendogs.
Man, this just looks like a ton of fun.
Fun fact I totally didn't just make up: Importing this game is probably way cheaper than paying actual camgirls to strip for you!
Really looking forwards to jumping into this crazy-ass series next time they give me a chance.
This looks incredible. Makes me want to get back to Yakuza 5 even though it's been one of the weaker games in the series so far. Really glad to see how much they seem to be modernizing the gameplay because the clunkiness has never been a part of the charm for me.

If you go to Yodobashi Camera they have Samsung cases all over the place, I found more cases for Samsung than Sony, maybe it depends on when you went since Samsung have kind of rocketed in the last couple a years.
More people need to experience the insane ridiculous beautiful bullshit that is the Yakuza series -- it somehow only gets crazier.
I didn't think Yakuza 5 could top Yakuza 4's gleeful insanity. But then you meteor punch a bear in the woods.(And that's just the beginning.)
Do Japanese people really use Sony phones?
I looked on the net and the top selling phones in 2015 were Apple, LG, Sony and Samsung. In fact I think Apple is a bit more popular in Japan than anywhere else. Japan has ist own phone culture, but that is not so much what they buy as much ashow they use the phones. I even saw a story where Japan was crazy for a flip-phne or ガラケイ(garakei) in 2015, which is something that might be a harder sell in the US. But the cultural implications of garakei (a combination of the words “Galapagos” and “keitai”, the Japanese word for mobile phone) go beyond phones, so let's not get into that here.
I only first played a Yakuza game about a week ago, but I'm already hooked. I'm definitely looking forward to this and Zero.
God that trailer/PV is great, They've fixed the one thing I disliked about those games, hammer through unvoiced text!
The game is packed with content, I hope we get an Unedited western release (Without people moaning about what ever is in there)
Looks like aside from the usual gripping story these games have the side stuff will keep me laughing for hours.
I know I will be reviving this thread but have you guys seen this?
fair to say I'm very excited for this game
@alex you need to see this, one of the mini games is Baby-seating, it reminds me of the Wii minigame (No ,no ,no. Please don't shake the baby)
