Yuffie Kisaragi is a character that first appeared in Final Fantasy VII. She is a young ninja from Wutai that the player first encounters randomly in wooded regions of the world map. She is an optional party member that will join the player's party if the proper steps are taken. Because she is an optional character, she does not appear in any of Final Fantasy VII's FMV sequences, even if she is in the player's active party.

    Story Involvement and Personaity

In her unending desire to obtain Materia, Yuffie forced herself into Cloud Strife's party. Although she acts underhanded at times and is rather self-centered, her giant shuriken and her adept ninja skills make her quite a valuable and dependable ally. She remains friends with the core group of characters in later Compilation of Final Fantasy VII projects, and plays a prominent role as comic relief next to the stoic Vincent Valentine in Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII.

Yuffie's presence in the party is necessary for a length of quests located in and around her home village of Wutai. If Yuffie is not in the party, buildings in Wutai will be largely locked and its population will be uncooperative to Cloud and company.

An odd quirk of Yuffie's character is that she becomes airsick rather easily. Normally energetic and willing to rush headlong into trouble while on the ground, she becomes barely able to move when in the air and spends most of her time trying not to lose her lunch.
