I don't know how much you pay attention to the advertising on game sites, but Stride-brand gum has been a constant for the past few years. Those guys behind Stride reeeeally want to reach the game-playing demographic. That's probably why the company is currently supporting a "save the arcades" campaign, where people can go to a site to play a pretty bad Flash game and donate the points they earn to one of four different arcades. The arcade with the most points at the end of the promotion wins $25,000... which I would immediately spend on Street Fighter IV or Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion cabinets.

Somehow Zachary Quinto of Star Trek fame got roped into all this and made an appearance at one of the four arcades. We were sent these shots of the appearance, which I felt compelled to post solely so I could pull a Jed Sanders and title something "Spock Got Game." Sorry.

They're all, like, playing Tetris and stuff!

Quinto looks intensely at... the Marvel vs. Capcom 2 scoreboard screen.

I feel like this is some sort of weird before-and-after picture, but I can't figure out which is which.

Quinto was a good Spock but I prefer his character in Heroes, Sylar. Does anyone know what his role was in 24: The Game? I'm not in the know on 24.

Arcades have declined for a reason.  Events  like California Extreme seem like a better way enjoy arcade games in this day and age.  Maybe Stride should get behind something like that.

Yeah, I've noticed. I remember when Stride was sponsoring On The Spot a while back.

Anyway, good on Stride for trying to "Save the Arcades", although I wonder how much they paid Quinto to make an appearance? Might of been better to use that cash to bolster the prize money...

Advertising? On websites? Did you find a time machine and travel back to pre-Ad-Blocker-Plus/pre-Privoxy era internets or something?

Also, I'd like to start an urban legend that Zachary Quinto is related to Dane Cook. Seriously. Look at them. Quinto just happens to be the non-douche of the pair.

They've done studies on famous people and they tend to have larger heads. One theory is that is why they standout in a crowd.  If start to look at famous actors a little more you will tend notice, particularly the guys tend to have big heads.

The Zman rocked the Sylar and the Spock roll.  Can't wait for the next season and the next Star Trek film.  Its was good to see them finally dump the TNG pussy stink.  My wife and I have been on a DVD kick and I recently watched the entire Star Trek TNG series and boy it didn't age well at all.  Say what you like about old school Star Trek but at least it was entertaining.  If I want to follow asleep I can just listen to the dulcet tones of Picard or the other cast of wooden actors.  The only two good things to come out of that series was Patrick Stewart and
    Ronald D. Moore.
