What kind of Zombie are we talking about here? Like the normal 50's movie Zombie or the 28 Days Later kind. Cause I'd book it if it was the 28 Days Later kind but if it was the other one I'd probably retreat at a moderate pace.

First off I doubt you're going to have a gun when you encounter a random zombie...so personally I would find something to impale its head with....that's all I got.

My Zombie survival handbook says crowbars are the best against a zombie.

If I could pick any weapon (and the skill to handle it right), I'd pick a halberd or other polearm. That grants you a certain distance but is handy in the infight too, you can knock em over, behead them, it doesn't run out of ammo.

Quite good if you work in a halberd factory

Although I wouldn't mind re-enacting thriller the only real answer here is shoot it in the head with my Chuck Norris brand handgun.

I doubt  zombies would cooperate as well as the zombies used in Thriller....

At first I think I would stab it with my sword, but then again if it did happen, I would probably cry and drop in the dead beetle position.
