Is that whole "different devs doing different chapters" thing true? Because I swear to god it was mentioned offhand as a joke years ago on a podcast and it's just slowly become their accepted reality.

Why does Barrett look so white in that trailer? Maybe it's the lighting.

They are running a video game wiki after all, that is meant to link every article, podcast, video to every game shown and mentioned in said content.

I bet the FF7 remake (the first release since they said it will be multiple games) will just be Midgar and nothing else. No open world.

I hope they continue watching over the "State of Play" streams. Sony has done a few of these, and while they never seems to reveal anything earth shaking, it seems only fair if they are going to cover "Nintendo Directs" that they cover what Sony and Microsoft do of the same ilk.

How come this wasn't in the "Upcoming," list? Feels like a lot of streams haven't been listed lately.

@the_nubster: they brought it all back in house at square enix back in 2016, and theres been no info of whether its still split into episodes for years so i guess e3 will answer those question. As for different developers doing different chapters, that was never a thing. they had a company helping with development overall years ago, but they werent happy with the quality so shut that down.

@imawizardandthatlooks: Yea be better if that is disabled by default or something at least when watching first time (but keep it searchable).

@thefozz26: I mean...their job, which they have been doing for many years, is to cover video games, and a million video games come out every day. A trailer tells you next to nothing about whether or not a game will be any good, so the unless these kinds of videos unveil something truly weird or unexpected the most reaction you'll get is "hmmm, that looks interesting" or "could be good".

Personally I prefer a skeptical or cautiously optimistic attitude over Youtuber-level HYPE.

FF7 looks pretty good but that wasn’t much to chew on. More of a teaser for the real announcement at E3 I suppose.

I enjoy these and am glad they skipped E3 this year. People still getting bent outta shape over at certain forums is some sad shit.

At least the FFVII remake looks better than those worst-looking-than-original remakes they did for IV and VI. What a tragedy. Arguably, the two best Final Fantasy games. VII is good, but overrated.

That last FFVII remake trailer was so forgettable that Jason and Jeff don't even remember it. Absolutely brutal lol. FFVII is my favorite game of all-time, but even I had a similar experience: I couldn't tell that this trailer featured new footage. They are still showing stuff from literally the opening 30 minutes of the game ... years later? I expected they'd have more to show if they ever brought this game out again -- kind of expected it to just be cancelled by this point. Will still be a fun novelty but given how they are only showing the opening area, I imagine it's a long way from complete.

I think they were openly saying "FFXV but VII" from very early on, at least with regard to the action. Which was always disheartening to hear, and now it's even more disheartening to see. If thinking that combat looks downright atrocious makes me a purist, so be it. Hope it pleases whoever they're remaking it for.

I started getting really excited for a second when I thought that flying squirrel game could maybe possibly almost potentially be Tokyo Jungle 2. Alas...

Real excited for Iceborne but PC being delayed really took the wind out of my sails. I'm not gonna pretend I know what goes into game development but man. You can't get parity between PC and consoles after a year?

That flying squirrel game looked fun. I could imagine a game where you are a flying squirrel trying to get away from various natural disasters being a good game.

Yo Jason. MHW loads nice and snappy on a One X. Not to PC SSD levels but still damned quick and has the console release timeframe.

I agree with Jeff that Maximo & Medieval blend together somewhat. That said, i think both those games are pretty interesting and that makes me totally welcome this Medieval remake. FF7 looks decent, but i seriously doubt they get beyond the first part of the game before cancelling the other parts. I think they did a good job on the characters at least. They look pretty solid
