So last week my father and I went to the National Film Theatre here in London to see Tokyo Story, a film made by Yasujiro Ozu and released in 1953. It was beautiful and incredibly thoughtful, very slow at the beginning but the way the beats of the story all unfold and the way the director approaches the themes he's conveying is masterful. 5/5 no question.

Need to go see Looper, by the sound of things.

Watched "Flatliners" on tv last night. I had never heard of the movie before. It starred Keifer Sutherland, Kevin Bacon, Julia Roberts, and one of the Baldwin brothers. Wasn't bad.

Looper 4.5 out of 5, awesome concept and movie was done super well, however it took me 30 minutes or so to get used to the Bruce Willis-y looking Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Best horror movie i've seen this year (I consider Cabin In the Woods Si/fi) I don't want to spoil anything as each film in the anthology is incredible, my only issues are the wrap around (Tape 53) wasn't very interesting, and the first video was in my opinion the best, and I could have done with out the second, but even that had it's moments and over all it was pretty incredible.

Up in the Air - 5/5

George Clooney is amazing in this. In romance movies he usually plays the suave guy that every woman wants but here we see him play a vulnerable character who falls for someone. It's funny, it's sweet and at times it's profound. I loved it.

Last movie I saw in its entirety was an anime film called "Children Who Chase Lost Voices From Deep Below." It's an uninspired Studio Ghibli rip-off with an unmotivated plot, a completely useless main character, and far too many "look at how much money we put in the animation department!" moments. There was no main antagonist, just a handful of would-be bad guys that the film didn't do much with, and the little girl protagonist was put into a couple oddly sexualized scenes. It had some neat ideas, but was too far up its own ass with whatever message about death it was trying to convey. Thankfully, I watched it with my girlfriend, and we were able to snark it the entire way through.

Looper.

4/5

I like the entire movie, but the way the plot begins to focus on something else entirely kind of detracts from the overall experience. I don't mind where it goes, but I wish they had kind of went after that from the outset.

It strikes me that I've watched an abysmal amount of movies in the recent months.

Anyways, if animated movies count:

Batman: Under the Red Hood; 8/10. Story could of been better, but the solid voice acting and animation makes up for it.

If not.. well:

TDKR: 7.5/10. It's a great movie, but it was lacking in some parts of the story, and I wasn't a massive fan of how Bane was suddenly undermined as the big bad towards the end.

I just watched Enemy at The Gates in anticipation of CoH 2. 8/10

It's Hollywood's take on WWII eastern front, a flawed one, but with a high production value. Now it's time for Stalingrad and Come and See.

Same here, dude! I went in to the movie thinking it would be a cheap knock off of the Matrix. But, in many ways, Equilibrium is the superior movie!

Ace Attorney.

In case people don't know (and I didn't) there is an actual Japanese movie about the first Ace Attorney game. Even having not played the game itself, I recognised the ways they implemented game features, and it was all done in such a ridiculous, over the top, super-duper Japanese style that it was amazing. I now need to go play the game if it is anywhere near as batshit insane as the movie.

Anyway, 4 pointed fingers out of 5. It'll appeal to a limited audience, so I can't recommend it to anyone, but anyone who visits this site should see this damn weird movie.

I watched 2 movies tonight

Sinister, which I'd give a 6/10. It has moments of pure brilliance wrapped in really hammy, terrible parts. If they'd toned down the cheese and been a bit less heavy-handed about a lot of things it would have been vastly improved.

[REC] 3 I would give a solid 8/10. I didn't even know this movie existed until I saw Patrick's list. The first [REC] movie is basically on top of my list of favorite horror movies, but I didn't like 2. I had no idea what 3 would be like and was pleasantly surprised at the tone shift, as well as the new perspective. It wasn't the same as the first; but that's okay, it was still worth watching =)

Also recently, um, Prometheus. I'm gonna say 2/5 for not really making much sense, and for some retarded science.

Drive 4/5. Cool movie and some crazy violence.

Oooh, almost forgot Kick Ass. 4/5 for some good laughs and good times.

Crazy Little Thing Called Love -

Hello there I am a Filipino and I love American movies of Robert Downie film. But this movie wakes me up why,

I am an addicted gamer of console games and MMO, I am always in-front of my PC. I didn't answer my girlfriend call. My girlfriend always looks at me, understand me, or generally speaking always at me. Oh I don't want to talk about it, when I watch the film. I realize that I lost everything and I am just too late, very too late.
