Data East's attempt at a Street Fighter II type of game in the 1990's.

Fighter's History was originally released by Data East in arcades in 1993 and on SNES in 1994.  It featured the standard six button for punches and kicks and the characters were very similar to one designed by Capcom for Street Fighter II.  The character's were so similar that Capcom actually sued Data East for copy right infringement, a case they lost because they could not prove that Data East had stolen their characters (while many are similar, they are not exactly the same).

Fighter's History had one unique aspect that no other fighting game has duplicated (in whole) thus far.  Each character (even the 2 bosses) had a weak spot that when struck would begin to glow.  When enough damage was done to the weak spot it would break and the character would then become dizzy, allowing alot of damage to be issued until the dizzy effect was over.
