Poll There are four slices left in the loaf of bread. Two of them are end pieces. What do you do? (136 votes)
Choose wisely.
Choose wisely.
i like endpieces, so i'll just eat those as a quick snack while i use the big middle pieces for the sandwich.
Reflecting back on kid me, except for the fact they can be thinner, I don't see why I had hate on end pieces.
It's all bread.
Eat them.
I prefer middle pieces, as ends can be really thin sometimes, but either is fine. Taking one of each is a mistake though; my experience from family and roommate is that you can never trust someone else to eat the ends. They'll just leave it in there for someone else to eat, and if it's just one slice, I probably won't eat it. I don't have toast that often.
I always go for the middle slices, but NOT because I dislike the end slices. Actually, I just think the end pieces are really useful because I think they lock in the moisture a bit better and keep the rest from getting stale. So, I just leave the two end slices until the very end and then eat them together.
I consider the end pieces to be the protectors of the rest of the bread. The middle is what I'm going for first, while the ends shelter the soft insides. I still enjoy the end pieces, but they get saved until the end. Usually for an egg on toast situation.
Crusts on pre-sliced bread are always the absolute worst part of the bread, and end pieces are ENTIRELY crust, so they can go to my partner who loves all crusts.
There's some toxic shit in this thread about an individual's eating preference that effects nobody but the person eating the bread, or in worst case effects the 20p heels ignored to the point where they have to be binned.
EDIT: That said, by the time there's only two slices left along with the heels, those two slices are pretty much stale anyway, so if I'm making a sandwich I'll usually open the new loaf and leave the stale non-heels for toast.
You make a sandwich out of the ends and very loudly go around the house reminding everyone else that you are bearing that cross for them and that they are cowards.
Why would I make two flawed sandwiches; instead one good sandwich and one flawed sandwich? I don't mind the heel of the bread, it fine, but why spread it out????
