The Japanese god of fog, born in the initial generation of gods before Izanami's death. He is a main antagonist in Persona 4 and wishes to cover the world in fog, where humans will remain ignorant, Shadow-selves who cannot perceive the reality of their surroundings.

Chie is one of the first characters to join the player's party in Persona 4. A huge fan of martial arts and meat, Chie is the upbeat, cheerful, and energetic tomboy of the group. She does, however, have an occasionally short temper, especially with Yosuke Hanamura. Her initial Persona is Tomoe Gozen of the Chariot Arcana.
A servant of Philemon, Igor is a recurring character in the Persona series, assisting the player by helping them summon new Personae. He inhabits a realm known as the Velvet Room.
Izanagi is the father of creation in Japanese mythology. He was forced to mourn the death of his wife Izanami, but was famously unwilling to accept it.
The Japanese goddess of creation, she was killed while birthing Kagutsuchi, setting off a major arc in Japanese mythology. She is also the "reincarnated goddess" that provides the namesake of the Megami Tensei franchise.
Jack Frost is a playful demon who can be seen filling all kinds of roles in the Shin Megami Tensei franchise and is also the de facto mascot for Atlus, hee ho!
A folk ninja with the ability to shape-shift into an enormous toad. He appears as the eponymous protagonist of the classic Japanese folktale "The Tale of the Gallant Jiraiya".

A reclusive teenager that appears in Persona 4. He attempts to ask Yukiko out near the game's start only to be rejected. He later becomes the first suspect in the mysterious kidnapping and murder case that takes place in Inaba.
A supporting character in Persona 4, Nanako is Ryotaro Dojima's daughter and Yu Narukami's cousin. She represents the Justice Arcana.
A famous detective with self-image issues, Naoto uses a revolver in battle and wields the Persona Sukuna Hikona of the Fortune Arcana, with specialization in Almighty, Light, and Dark type skills.
Rise is a main character of the Persona 4 franchise. A former pop idol who retired for unknown reasons, she serves as a support character, informing the party of enemy data, as well as protecting them from harm and providing stat boosts. As the deuteragonist of Persona 4: Dancing All Night, she serves as the leader of the underclassmen division after the Investigation Team splits up to rescue the Kanamin Kitchen girls. Her initial Persona is Himiko of The Lovers Arcana.
A student at Yasogami High. A known co-worker of Yosuke Hanamura. She is the older sister of Naoki Konishi.
Sraosha is the Zoroastrian yazata that conveys the divine messages of Ahura Mazda to humans. He guides souls in the afterlife and possesses a gentle demeanor.
A city council secretary. He had an affair with Mayumi Yamano, the first murder victim.
A mysterious bear who resides in the world of the Midnight Channel. He is searching for who/what he is. His initial persona is Kintoki-Douji.
A detective at the Inaba Police Department and Ryotaro Dojima's partner, Tohru Adachi is often depicted as a bumbling police officer who is well-intended and good natured at heart. He often provides indirect assistance to the main character and his party in Persona 4.
A renowned female samurai of the Heian era. She was thought to have fought in the Genpei War alongside Minamoto no Yoshinaka.
Clumsy boy and comic relief character who sports reddish-brown hair and wears red headphones around his neck. Uses dual knives or kunai in battle and his initial persona is Jiraiya of the Magician Arcana which uses Wind, Heal and Stat Buff magic.
The main protagonist of the Persona 4 franchise. As the leader of the Investigation Team, Yu Narukami becomes deeply involved in the serial murder cases in the Inaba region shortly after arriving in town to live with his uncle. Unlike the other members of his team, he does not have a "Shadow" self, can summon and fuse numerous Personas, and has exclusive access to the Velvet Room. He is portrayed by Johnny Yong Bosch in the English dub.
Yukiko is an elegant, rich girl in Persona 4 with long, black hair. She wears a red headband. Her primary weapon is the paper fan she always carries with her. Yukiko's initial persona is Konohana Sakuya of the Priestess Arcana and she is skilled in healing and fire magic.
