I would have hated that to be honest, I can play MK2 if I want to see silly-looking sprites with silly animations. (Not a diss on the game, it's a cool style but I am glad MK9 uses polygonal characters)
As long as they don't render stills and touch them up or whatever they they did for the new MK characters at the select screen. They're all so terrible looking in a "funny, yet this should not be real or official" way. At least in the demo.
Yeah, but I am sure that would look pretty weird. Either they use Hi Res images but keep the same animations and frame counts and the game looks janky as hell, or they build up a new game from the ground up which would be pretty cool, but don't know if it would be worth their time and money at this point. There is another game doing this though, but I can't remember the name. Or I don't even know if it was a game or some kind of concept trailer. Anyway, it looked cool. Someone find that shit!
