it's basically the inquisition, they hunt down decepticons they think "aren't doing it the way megatron intended" and then torture and execute them in horrific ways. they're super edgelords, like, one transforms into a literal electric chair. the leader has the decepticon logo as a face mask. it's very over the top and they kinda suck super hard, one of my least favorite parts of the IDW comics, but they do get what's coming to them which is nice.
MTG Shandalar is legit one of the best games of the 90s, and it's a fucking crime it's not easily available anymore. WOTC probably doesn't want to rerelease it because it might potentially eat into MTGO and MTG:Arena profits.
man, it's so fuckin good. a randomly-generated world to explore full of dungeons to loot and sometimes hard as hell enemies to fight, where you'd often use complete garbage cards for a lengthy period of time and then whoops you found a black lotus and then whoops you beat a summoner who instead of taking their cards, offers to duplicate a card in your deck, and whoops now you've got multiple Power Nine cards(or sets of them) in a single deck!
so fucking fun to break that game. man I love Shandalar, in fact, I've got it on my windows 10 hotbar right next to the MTG:Arena icon. :D
Given my love for old style RTS games I really got to pick up There are Billions. Great list!
It's intensely punishing but I guarantee you there is NOTHING like surviving the Final Wave. I'll spoiler it for you, but it does something that gave me chills when I first experienced it: When the Final Wave is approaching, shortly beforehand, the narrator will go nuts and go "AN IMMENSE SWARM IS HEADING THIS WAY...THEY...THEY ARE UNCOUNTABLE! THEY ARE BILLIONS!" and a very unnerved track starts playing as the countdown begins ticking down. Then, when the timer reaches zero, a "triumphant", yet desperate and doomed, music track begins, THE FOG OF WAR DISAPPEARS, AND THE ENTIRE BORDER OF THE MINIMAP TURNS RED, FLOODED WITH RED INDICATORS OF LITERALLY TENS OF THOUSANDS OF ZOMBIES FLOODING IN FROM EVERY DIRECTION. it is such a good setup for the premise and you REALLY need to plan things well and strategize well to survive it.
I have a feeling Indivisible is going to be pretty much entirely skipped over this year on people's GOTY lists and that makes me sad, that game has so much heart and is so much fun, even if it's not perfect. The music is glorious, the story is actually pretty solid, and the visuals of course are staggeringly good.
I'm still gonna buy it on PC eventually. I know it's not perfect, but, hell, I played No Man's Sky at launch and enjoyed the vast nothingness exploration as a relaxation thing. If the cutscenes are super bad in this I can just skip'em and wander around in the post timepocalypse
everything I am seeing people hate about death stranding is exactly what I want from death stranding
hideous inventory management. barren, massive open spaces to explore. weird but amazing multiplayer integration. I'm very excited to buy this game on steam in like 10 months.
