This was really great. Was wondering how well it'd go when they aren't all together in the same room and they made it work. Best Dad category was a great "joke" category that lead to some great discussion. Also really glad that they ditched the format they've used the last 2 years (?) where they just recap the year. Having only categories was so much better, I just wish they actually had more. Throw in a 3rd category per day.
And for my pointless griping. How did Ghost of Tsushima not make top 3? That's maybe the best looking game I've ever seen. Also CyberPunk being the first game just easily cut I found crazy. I get if they didn't want it top 3, but everyone just right away agreeing, yeah it's gone, seemed rough. The technical stuff sure, that's a huge knock. But like Digital Foundry, the website that's literally just there to tell you how pretty a game is and how good it runs awarded it their best looking game of the year, Digital Foundry!
Mass Effect is my favorite gaming series of all time and watching this and experiencing the series again with Alex has been an absolute blast.
It is kinda super shitty though that Brad, Vinny or the chat didn't tell Alex to stop so he could actually sit back and think about his choice. Honestly can't believe they just let it go like that. Super sucks when you've invested so much time into something and then have the final choice come out like that.
This has been the best thing during the lockdown. I could listen to these guys talk shop for days. Honestly I'm so happy anytime one of these comes up. Please keep them coming.
I actually am hoping that they use a guide as they play this. ME3 is a little different in a sense because so much stuff is time sensitive and you can straight up miss it. Then there's just so many random, small side quests that are on obscure planets that you might miss. I just enjoy watching Alex and Vinny as they go through Shep's adventure. I don't want them missing all this stuff that they will probably need and if they just have like a mission order guide with them as they play I think it'd help.
Just a heads up for Alex and Vinny. There is a bug in Mass Effect 2 with Conrad Verner where his story will always play out as if you did the Renegade options in Mass Effect 1 with him. That's why this interaction might of seemed a bit off since you picked paragon and didn't point a gun at this face.
Oh I am so happy for this! As someone who doesn't really care about fighting games, doesn't like wrestling and really doesn't care about Metal Gear I've been hoping that eventually there would be some focused content in my wheel house and this is it. Alex and Vinny playing through my favorite gaming trilogy (hopefully all 3) sounds too perfect. Even if it's just the first, this game is soooooooooo good, it will be awesome.
So pumped for Alex to experience this for the first time. I might have to go back and play through it again for like the 5th time now.
Man the level of just how much of an ass everyone was seriously just made this uncomfortable to listen to. Literally the complete opposite of the vibe the Beastcast always gives off.
It was so fitting that Dan wasn't even in at the end because Vinny was so much better than Dan at this game that it was comical, despite Dan using the absurdly broken character and yelling about giving him all the weapons. If Vinny was Brownie they probably would of beat this run like 10 tries ago, haha.
Hearing Jeff say that an orgy could be like D&D, there could be rules, made me laugh out loud like I haven't in a while. Really felt like Jeff was on fire this episode with the jokes, but mentioning that an orgy could have a strict rule set like D&D was killler.
