I wanted to see which games on my backlog are available on Mac, and it looks like that's not possible?

It looks like filters aren't an option to begin with. As far as I can tell, all I can do is view the list. It doesn't even look like I can sort the entries.

It feels more niche to me for a backlog/wish list/catalog to absolutely need to disallow duplicates.

It's not really niche because otherwise you end up with a list of thousands of items containing a hundred games total.

I can see listing scenario where a game on teh list is your "Best Shooter" and then your "best multiplayer". I suppose on a list of 237 games negating teh possiblity of duplictes might be a service, but on GB list of Top 10s or 20s, there is less harm in it.

"Best shooter" and "best multiplayer" are separate lists, so there shouldn't be a problem adding the same game to both. I'm talking about per-list duplicates.

Sometimes you just gotta add something to a list twice. I can see why it'd be a hassle, but I genuinely prefer having the option over not.

So for this one very niche scenario everyone else who just needs a backlog/wish list/catalog has to suffer?

It's not even just cumbersome. Any list of a decent length (that is, more than 10-20 items) becomes straight up unmaintainable, unless you do some sort of HTML magic, copy all the entries into something like VS Code which can single out duplicate lines so you could go back to the list, find them and remove.

I seriously fail to understand the devs' logic here.

They just make maintenance cumbersome cuz you have to make sure that whatever game you're adding you haven't added in the past. Every time.

Like if a game is already in a list, can that be shown somehow? Or can the list it's in at least be greyed out?

Also, can I sort alphabetically?

  1. Socks
  2. Shirt
  3. Underwear
  4. Jacket
  5. Pants

I put on socks first because putting them on after pants is weird and annoying, and I also like to keep my feet warm so I wanna put em on as soon as I can.

Pants I just do not like, so I usually put em on last.
