Bothell boiiiiiiii
Welcome to Washington State son! I would say the best thing about the Seattle area is the weather during summer. It's just fantastic, so you picked the perfect time to move. What to do? Go to a Mariners game at least once, Seahawks if you can grab tickets. Sports not your thing? There's so many places to hike, one I liked was Rattle Snake Ridge; it's pleasantly challenging with a beautiful view at the top. At Lake Union (or most lakes) you can kayak, canoe, but be wary where you fish there's some algae around that might make you super sick. There's also lot of artists that stop by during their tours, so if you like music or stand up or some combination of that you'll find someone to see. Oh Capitol Hill deserves a visit at night with plenty of bars and clubs.
Oh, and there's so many great coffee places other than Starbucks. And beer. And a lot of sushi places, I like Musashi 'cause it's affordable and delicious. Get the Shirashi bowl. Of course, Shiro's Sushi doesn't need much introduction. China Town has some awesome dim sum places, Sichuanese Cousine is one that also has a full menu after dim sum hours. There's way too many good Asian restaurants.
When your rent is up, Kirkland would be a good alternative (might be more expensive). Suburban with access to more restaurants than Bothell. By that point I'm sure you'll get the lay of the land a bit better. Good luck duder. I guess Canada is really close, if you're into Canada.
PS: DON'T get an umbrella, tough it out with a raincoat and blend in more with the locals. (jk, but not really)
