My girlfriend moved from Okinawa to Hawaii when she was two. The first time she knew that pineapples grow from a plant on the ground was in her 40s when we visited Okinawa, which has lots of pineapples just like Hawaii. She saw a display that had a little pineapple sitting on top of the plant, and didn't know why it was on top, she thoughtthey grew on trees.

I have some experience digging potatoes out of the ground in Iowa, we found lots of stone arrowheads in the fields. I always thought they were cool.

I’m not going to type it all here, but as a mechanical engineer I have been thinking *way* too much about the toilet blender this morning.

I knew having Dan back would be a hoot but this crew already seems to gel well. Everyone is having good laughs, though the Dump Truck has always been good for that, and it's infectious.

What's with the weird echo on all the calls?

Garbage disposal toilets exist. It's called a macerating toilet. They're used in instances where the toilet is lower than the main drain line to the septic or sewer. They're also called upflush toilets for this reason.

I don't know how Jason and Jess both heard $100,000 for the gorilla question. In the recording, Dan clearly says $100 million, which is more than enough.

Also, I don't see how there's any issue with preparation. I've never heard that as a caveat to these kind of questions. When you somehow survive the attack, your injuries will be severe and almost certainly long-term debilitating. You'll be lucky if you're not maimed. I wouldn't risk it to not prepare.

@kamasamak: Yeah, he said $80,000/year for 4-5 guys = $400,000/year. If he devoted $100M of his money to just this, it would take 250 years to run out of money. Meanwhile if managed properly, he and his heirs would never have to work their entire lives thanks to the other $900M.
