Overview
Space Invaders Frenzy is a deliberately-retro sci-fi fixed-gun shooter developed and released by Raw Thrills (in conjunction with Taito) for arcades in 2016.
Based on Taito's 1978 arcade game Space Invaders, Space Invaders Frenzy allows up to two players in a "cockpit" seating (with unique fixed-gun controllers) to take on waves of invaders before they reach the player ships at the bottom of the screen.
The game features a very large vertically-oriented color LED-matrix game screen (measuring 117"/9.75'/2.97m tall and 68"/5.67'/1.73m wide), which was also used in World's Largest Pac-Man (also by Raw Thrills). Both are the only known arcade games to use a LED-matrix for the main display.
Along with standard arcade play, operators can enable a "video redemption" mode that allows players to win redemption tickets (at the cost of limited playability, lasting only one round).
