    Overview

Void Tyrant is a free-to-play deck-building role-playing game for mobile platforms developed by Quite Fresh Games and published by Armor Games Studios. In Void Tyrant, the player leads a rebellion trying to defeat the undead king Wruut and save the galaxy. To achieve their goal, they must retrieve the Eyes of Chronos, mystical stones that have been stolen by Wruut and are locked away in the Chaos Pyramid. They travel from world to world, fighting enemies while building their deck and leveling up their character through battles to improve their chances of winning. Void Tyrant features a different take on card-based combat with a hit-or-stand system similar to blackjack, where players can play numbered cards to try to outdo their opponents number while using action cards for a variety of different offensive and defensive effects. Void Tyrant also contains rogue-like elements that allows players to play multiple attempts should they die against any enemy.

    Plot

In Void Tyrant, players are informed that the galaxy is in danger due to the actions of the conqueror Wruut, an undead king brought to life who has spread terror across the planets. He has taken the Six Eyes of Chronos, magical stones that keep the energies of the galaxy in balance. Without them in their proper place, the universe will be destroyed. To prevent this fate, the player leads an operation attempting to retrieve the Eyes of Chronos from Wruut's hands, but to do so they must get access to the Chaos Pyramid by obtaining the Chaos Keys spread across multiple worlds.

    Gameplay

Void Tyrant mixes a variety of different gameplay elements from other genres. At its core, players visit planets and face off enemies in turn-based card combat. Each side has a bar called the Attack Gauge which has a maximum limit of 12 points. There are two types of cards that can be played: numbers and actions. If the player chooses to "hit", they draw a card numbered from 1 through 6, and add the number drawn to their Attack Gauge, ending their turn. The enemy they are facing then takes a turn doing the same thing. The player and enemy continue to do so until either one decides to "stand" and end their turn, or until an attack gauge goes above its maximum limit (in the player's case, they must avoid getting a score higher than 12). When both turns are ended, whoever has the higher number will attack the opponent, ending the round. If both sides still have health points, they go for another round. While number cards end a turn, action cards can be played as long as the player has enough energy points to afford them. Each action card has an effect; they can heal, do direct damage, cause a variety of status effects on the opponent (blind, burn, poison, etc.), boost the player's damage if they win the round. In classic combat style, if the enemy runs out of health points, the player is victorious and can continue onto the next room. However, if the player runs out of health points, their character dies permanently and they must choose a new hero from the town.

When the player returns to town, they can unlock buildings with various effects, acquire new quests and purchase equipment before starting their next attempt. Every hero is randomized and can obtain different perks depending on their class and race. As the player progresses, they can unlock and upgrade three classes in the game: Knight, Duelist and Priest, each with their unique play style and deck of action cards.
