Overview
Tetris X is a falling-block puzzle game developed and published by Bullet-Proof Software for the Sony PlayStation exclusively in Japan on March 29, 1996.
The first game in the long-running Tetris series to be released on fifth-generation consoles, Tetris X features a bare-bones version of the classic game (in "Classic Mode"), as well as a versus multiplayer mode for up to four players (in "Battle Mode").
The Battle Mode features four chibi characters from the 1993 game Tetris Battle Gaiden (Mirurun, Shaman, Princess, and Halloween), who can be moved around under everyone's playfields. In order to send garbage blocks to an opponent, players build up their attack through line clears, move to the opponent's playfield, and then press the attack button. At certain times, all characters are distracted by butterflies and continuously move, releasing all of their attack once the butterflies are gone (even attacking their own playfield).
