    8-Bit Armies is a series of retro style RTS games by Petroglyph, featuring voxel graphics and game mechanics inspired by the original Command & Conquer and Dune II.

    The franchise started with the titular 8-Bit Armies launched in April 2016, with the C&C inspired conflict between the near-future military factions Renegades and Guardians, it was followed in August with the WarCraft inspired 8-Bit Hordes, a fantasy RTS with the Deathsworn and Lightbringer factions, and in December 8-Bit Invaders! followed, with a StarCraft or Starship Troopers spin and the factions Galactic Marine Corps and the alien Cranoids.

    All the games are cross-compatible in multiplayer, allowing players to pit Guardians against Cranoids or Lightbringers and so on. Owners of multiple titles also unlock the ability to play as the other games' factions in skirmish and co-op.
