    Short summary describing this game.

    Overview

Titled simply America The Game for the NA release. Set in the post-Civil War American west, players choose between four factions: Native Americans, Mexicans, Outlaws and the United States. Each has its own single-player campaign, and LAN multiplayer is available.

Gameplay is very conventional for an RTS of the late 90s. The player oversees the gathering of resources, construction of buildings, and recruitment of soldiers from an isometric, 2D perspective. Each faction has unique gameplay elements, such as the U.S.'s sheriff unit with increased sight range or the Native Americans' ability to pack and up and relocate their tepee structures.

    Reception

America was widely critically panned, most reviewers finding it plainly derivative of Age of Empires II, albeit with a less-polished presentation and wild difficulty spikes. Many also found the German developer's treatment of unit voiceovers, particularly the Mexican and Native American factions, to be poorly acted and potentially offensive.
