    Overview

Angelique Trois is a Japan-exclusive PlayStation 2 game and the third game ("trois" is three in French) in the otome spin-off series of Angelique, based on the 1994 Super Famicom original. The player assumes the role of Angelique Collet, made Queen of the Cosmos in the prior game (Angelique Special 2), as she attempts to cultivate the land of Arcadia, a fragile continent trapped in-between dimensions. She can also romantically pursue a number of male Guardians, and her interactions with them follow the usual rules of the otome/dating-sim genre: certain responses will curry more favor and compatibility, while others will deplete it.

Angelique Trois saw multiple releases for the PS2. As well as the original and its simultaneous Premium Box releases, the game was updated with additional features and re-released as Angelique Trois: Aizouban (Aizouban means "favorite edition") the following year. This enhanced version also saw many reprints, usually with a price drop.

Angelique Trois is best known to Western gamer audiences for its appearance on an early GameCenter CX episode, before the show decided to stick primarily to 8-bit and 16-bit systems. Kacho Arino was given the game to sample while visiting the Koei offices.
