Combos where constant inputs from the player aren't required. All that is required is that the first hit connects and then the Combo will play out until it is completed, or the player on the receiving end escapes.
Some versus/multiplayer modes had fighting game elements in non-fighting games.
A fighting area that possess multiple locations, which can be gained by one player striking the other at specific locations with a powerful move. One character proceeds to the next arena unwillingly, and taking damage. The other player follows the first player and does not take damage. Fighting then resumes until the match ends, or perhaps until the next transition into yet another area.
Special/Super moves are similar inputs as auto-combos. all that requires that is required is holding down the button or use any move in one button.
This platforming-inspired sub-genre of fighting games often includes varied stage designs, the use of items and a lighter emphasis on damage-based KOs. Four or more players may join the mayhem though party-oriented elements may also be toggleable.
