    Bionic Commando Rearmed

Game » consists of 9 releases. Released Aug 13, 2008

Bionic Commando Rearmed is a remake of the classic NES game, Bionic Commando. Although it was designed mainly as a marketing tie-in to the 360 and PS3 game also called Bionic Commando, it was actually far, far better received by critics than the real console game.

So, we're not getting that infinite lives patch now

I remember back in the day...when we didn't have patches...and we had no checkpoints either.

Suck it up.  The game is tough, but it's not impossible.

On the highest difficulty, it's pretty fucking brutal.  I love it.  = D

Just keep doing those piss easy side missions and rack up lives.

Also, at least you got achievements. Us PS3 owners were promised trophy support. Still waiting, Capcom.

I just started a new game today and saw that my lives weren't running out. I was like "Did I play this on hard, where the lives matter, the first time I beat it?" This makes the game so much easier... I... I hate it!

I would love to have that patch.

What's it matter to them?  I bought the game, and I've not played it for over a year because the end level was hard in a not-worth-dying-for sort of way.   I love the game otherwise, but I've probably spent at least six hours trying to beat the ending, and it wasn't six hours of fun.  And when I finally do beat something like this, you know that "Feeling of accomplishment" those anal purists refer to?  I don't get that.  I just get a "I'm glad that annoying part's over" and "why the hell did I do that" kind of feeling.

So, suck it up?   F*** that.
People who can't understand I don't care to play this level of hardcore are just as annoying to me as I am to them.

Because some people want victory handed to them on a platter.

See what I mean?  No matter what your opinion, this is kind of pretentious flame bait.

I just played it with the new patch - in all honesty, it does feel a litte too easy - like it's missing some of the danger.  That said, now I can finally beat the very end of the game.

I like the update, but I would have liked it as an option I could turn on as a last resort, and then turn it back off for the next play through (even if I didn't want to play on HARD mode)

@Apollo_I3: Pretentious flame bait?  I felt that I was speaking the truth, even if it was blunt.  While the concept of limited lives may be outmoded, Rearmed was designed as a throwback to the original game, limited lives included.  I don't think I've talked to anyone that played the NES or Game Boy incarnations back in the day that has complained about the difficulty because the original Bionic Commando got really god damn hard, but it was rewarding to beat it.

@Hailinel:  Just because people want help, isn't it a bit presumptuous to think they want no challenge whatsoever?  And your tone was certainly meant to demean those that don't like what you like.  Was it not?  Who said unlimited guys was the only thing I asked for?  I would have preferred the level had checkpoints, like Shadow Complex, but I'll take it.  The game was right for you.  I was good until the end.  Some of my attempts took almost an hour for one try, and eventually it wasn't fun, and it wouldn't have been worth it if I had stuck with it and then beat it.

I said pretentious because I don't like that "elitist" attitude from gamers that like to play a different way.  When i pass parts like that is hard and takes forever, I don't feel "rewarded" anymore.  I just feel annoyed that it tied me up for that long.  I don't think my way is better, and I don't think you should either.

So, your "truthful" statement didn't fit.  I like challenge that is hard but within reach, but there comes a point where there are diminishing returns.

This isn't the fucking arcades anymore. There's no need for a home console to demand lives on a 2d platformer.
