Overview
Bunnyhopping (not to be confused with strafe jumping) is a technique used to gain more speed than could be achieved while running. This technique is considered glitching and/or cheating in more realism-based shooters and is usually illegal in leagues of competitive games. Examples being Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike: Source. However, in more arcade-like shooters, bunnyhopping is essential to high-level play, being able to quickly move around the map and avoid enemy fire while bunnyhopping was an absolute must. Shooters that essentially required players be able to bunnyhop in order to compete in high-level play include Quake, Unreal Tournament and Team Fortress Classic.
