    Overview

EVE is a series of Japanese adventure games that usually follow the stories of private detective Kojiroh Amagi and Marina Houjou, a national intelligence agent. The games are classified as "multi-sight" adventure games since they allow the player to swap between each protagonist in order to solve the mystery of each entry. The series began in 1995 with an eroge called EVE Burst Error which was directed by the late Hiroyuki Kanno at C's Ware. Kanno joined Elf Corperation after the release of the first game but C's Ware continued making sequels with other writers, including Kazuki Sakuraba (author of Gosick) and Kotaro Uchikoshi (creator of the Zero Escape series). C's Ware's parent company, Himeya Soft, later filed for bankruptcy in 2017 and the EVE franchise has since been taken over by El Dai.
