    Hey all

I am thinking of buying Rock Band after many hours of enjoyment from Guitar Hero 3. I am wandering whether I should go full hog and get the full version or get the game disk only as I have a Guitar Hero 3 controller?

    Anyway cheers :)

    That's definitely a tough question!

I've had the entire set from the beginning, and have loved it more than anything!
..But now that Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero 4 are coming out, hopefully by the end of this year, you might want to consider waiting to see if they have instruments that are more appealing to you, in terms of added features and better quality.
All instruments should be compatible with all the different games, so i think you can mix and match as you like. It would be too bad spending lots of money on a drumset, and then find a nicer one in stores a few months later..
So definately check out the periperals for the other games, if you have the patience to wait for them to get released. (I'm guessing you're from Europe as well.. we're used to lots of waiting over here, that's for sure!)

But you say you have a guitar already? I'd say definately go get the game no matter what :)
It's absolutely awesome, and you wont have any problems with compatibility for future games, instruments and DLC.. luckily!

Hmm, yeah I am from the UK so I know what you mean about the waits ;)

I am really wanting to play the drums and sadly the vocals as well. Is it worth the extra £100 on that?

I am not sure what day Rock Band 2 comes out in the UK but if it is anything near when it is coming out in USA I'd get game only and then buy Rock Band 2 as a full set and get all the new revamped instruments. However I'm sure that is not the case in UK.
One good thing is if you do get game only and wait, you can still use your Xbox Live headset to sing.

dont just get the game beacuse the best part of Rock Band is the drums if your going solo and the Band play which you cant do with only one guitar. Since your in the UK i would pick up the full version since no one knows when rock band 2 is comming out in the UK

If you plan on playing with a full band, the bundle is definitely the way to go. It's tons of fun. But if you just want to play it solo, I would probably just buy the game alone. The solo mode is decent, but the game is much more fun with other people.

I definitely suggest getting the full bundle. Keeping to only the guitar will get boring because, obviously, the songs are not focused on guitar in Rock Band. Both the drums and vocals are a blast, and if you have the full bundle you'll be able to play with friends which makes for a great time.

I am a huge fan of the drums, so I would say wait for the new instruments and then buy Rock Band 2. I guess you'd have to get it imported if you don't want to wait for it to be released in the UK.

I started off just buying the game on it's own, using the GH3 Les Paul to complete the Guitar career mode.

The lure of the drums proved to be too strong and I caved in and bought the Instrument pack after about a week.

I probably enjoy playing the drums more than any of the other parts and it's still very challenging with a lot to learn (can't get past Hard yet).

If you treat it like Guitar Hero you'll burn through it in no time, it nowhere near as challenging as GH2 or 3 but it's a lot more fun.
