Jeff Bakalar Joins the Giant Bombcast Starting 5/11/21

Excited to see all the J‘s on the Giant Bombcast now, plus Danny :).

This was the right choice.

Feels like some kind of continuity from the Beast-era, which is comforting.

I look forward to the next Jiant Jombcast.

Seriously though, this makes me excited for tomorrow's Bombcast even though it's gonna be super different from what we're used to now that we won't hear Brad's "Hey, it's Tuuuuuesday!". At least we'll have a familiar voice and face to make it feel more like home. :)

Excited for this! A year ago I never would've guessed a future Bombcast lineup would be Jeff G, Jeff B, Danny O, Jan O, and Jason O.

The fact that Danny O was on the Bombcast was reassuring before the news of the departures. Having Jeff B come on board has greatly reduced my future of the Bomboverse anxiety. We're in good hands Duders. Capt. Gerstmann has a steady hand.

@ssully: I’m saying he joined the beast crew from episode 0 working for adjacent cnet and been a constant fixture since. He was never official giantbomb crew member but he is a content factory. He is the free gift that keeps on giving.

I figured this would be the case, but it’s still nice to get it confirmed. Excited to hear Danny and Bakalar’s thoughts on RE: Village. That is, if this bombcast won’t just be all of them discussing about the future of GB, which I’d also be fine with.

Does this mean that they have to address him as Jeffrey Ian to not confuse the audience? :)

I always thought Bakalar fit in perfectly with Giant Bomb, very happy to see him as a part of team and I think the whole Giant Bomb community feels better knowing he will be a part of the team now. This is awesome news!

@mrfluke: it’s more like he came in and stole these guys lunch. Whatever made up title he’s got I wonder if 1 of the 3 wanted it. He comes in gets email access and a glowing send off from Vinnie. Some people will always have a golden parachute. This parachute has an ice maker. 311 episodes into the beastcast what does he even like to play besides call of duty? All he’s done is be like I’m playing something I can’t talk about and then nothing definitive comes of it. I’ve always thought of this guy like Andy on Conan. No me Andy gets the whole show and cleanses the set of all things conan. Giantbomb can count me out. They know they never broke the sanctity of game of the year with this guy because it’s like he was the lease holder on your apartment just showing up at your party. Ok I guess. Put in a parking lot. La la la. Pedigree? Some forum posters have better pedigree. Never logging back in. Unsubscribe.

Having been a fan of his since he was at before the Beastcast, it really to see him a part of the main cast of characters. This is going ti be a lot of fun!
