    Gnolls are a race of hyena-like, or dog-like humanoids.

    A humanoid creature commonly associated with Dungeons & Dragons and later fantasy based media, the gnoll actually made it's first appearance in Lord Dunsany's book The Book of Wonder.

    In Baldur's Gate, Gnoll society is led by the fiercest, cruelest male and typically make lairs underground or in ruins. When out in the world, they travel in loose bands and are rather belligerent.
