Short for the "New Arcade Operation Machine Idea", the NAOMI is a series of arcade system boards by Sega based on their Dreamcast architecture. It was used on a wide variety of arcade releases in the late '90s and early 2000's.
An arcade game that dispenses, scans, and uses real-life collectible cards for its gameplay.
Games that are controlled partially or entirely with a touch screen.
Many games have had collectible cards as a part of the gameplay.
These are often a departure from the conventional gameplay of a game. There have also been compilations; games including only minigames. The Mario Party series has a lot of minigames, too!
Magnetic cards store a person's saved game data on arcade cabinets.
In many games there is a ranking system, the players with the highest point value are listed in a "high score" table.
A game where cards are used to fight your enemies, or one where you make a "deck" with different abilites. Some examples are Culdcept Saga, Yggdra Union, and Phantom Dust.
Non-linear level design where the player is able to freely traverse the game world and choose where and when to visit certain areas in the game.
Games that have an open gameplay structure that allow players to interact with the world as they choose.
