    The M-97 Viper is a semi-automatic sniper rifle in Mass Effect 2. It is acquired during Thane's recruitment mission.
     

    Stats

    The M-97 Viper has a 48 rounds, and 12 rounds per clip. Through player driven tests, It has been determined that it has a a base DPS of around 80-218 damage per second. According to an official post on the Bioware forums. it does 1.35 extra damage to armor, and 1.15  extra damage to shields and barriers. This makes it an effective weapon in all missions during the game, but particularly effective against enemies with high armor (such as Krogans).
