As for some shows not needing season/year separators, I'll chat with Jeff about it. We separated them out by year across the board, and in some instances like GOTY it still makes sense, even without a ton of content, but...there are always edge cases.
Another side effect of filtering by default on the current year, is that it has made the site look way more empty while we are at the start of the year.
Vivecraft! It's one of the best VR experiences out there. I'm not a big Minecraft guy or anything, but there is something magical about being in that world, the scale of everything. Especially with room scale vr placing blocks and digging tunnels is so cool. I know the Windows 10 Minecraft was already played during a a Vrodeo, but I really hope they will also try this mod sometime.
I like my PS4, but is hard to compare generations. Also don't forget that this is the first time we switch from a generation that had a massive amount of after-market updates/support. Just thinking back on what was added to the PS3 since it's launch:

Is Angry Birds a video game? If so I would kill the genre it belongs to. Except when you are convinced it's a puzzle game, because random ass physics exclude it from that genre.
My list, I tried to only include games from this year, even though I played a lot of old(er) games. I feel there weren't that many great (working) games releases.
Somehow I related this franchise more with PlayStation than anything else. After looking it up it makes sense. Of the 10 major Tomb Raider games, all of 'm where released for a PlayStation and only the last 4 where also available on a Xbox. Will the PS4 be the first PlayStation console without Lara?
I moved away from PC gaming completely around the time of the PS3 release. I was so far into Linux that I decided to ditch Windows altogether and just game sitting on the couch with the big screen using my PS3.
Now Steam for Linux/SteamOS is starting to become something. I installed it on my Ultrabook, browsed through the games and found out they actually ported Half-Life to Linux! Something I asked them to do years and years ago. Amazed by this discovery, I dug up my decade old copy and tried activating it on my newly created Steam account. Sadly this didn't work right away (already activated). So I opened a customer support ticket and the nice people at Valve actually reset a very old Steam account that I totally forgot about. It was on a handle that I used back in the day to play the original Counterstrike. That was when they first started with Steam, which was the most annoying thing ever invented :-)
But then I started playing the original Half-Life again after more then 10 years and I got to say it still holds up (or is that the nostalgia?). Played through the entire campaign in one sitting. What a game.
