@jstaunton: Honestly, it's like people have skipped the last 3-4 weeks in which the "tossed salad and scrambled eggs" bit has been mentioned multiple times.
For all the people who might get proxy anxiety from seeing friends fight or think that this video ends with them in a bad mood, don't worry! Some people in the comments are making it way more of a deal than it is. Here's a screencap from the end of the vid. I really enjoyed this whole stream but was hesitant to watch because of the comments, but it ended up being a really fun playdate.
Also to people trying to change Dan's behaviour or saying videos would be better without him, remember that these are not characters on a TV show that you can wish to be written differently. These are real people with complex off-camera relationships!
Oh yeah, totally, they had fun and nothing really happened. I'm just an anxious person, and Vinny was a bit surprised at Dan's behavior, and I felt kinda anxious watching those couple of minutes, that's it. It was a fun stream!
I've met some of the Giant Bomb guys a couple times at some E3 and Paxparties years ago, but even so I don't consider them friends. Industry relationships, sure, but they are entertainers first, to me. I respect that they have outside lives, and that their life doesn't revolve around the things that happen on screen, BUT, that doesn't mean that when they make something on screen that sucks, or causes people discomfort, they shouldn't be called on it.
"They have relationships off screen" doesn't mean a lot to me, and others, when the on screen isn't very pleasant to watch. It's not some constant thing, but there have been a few times where interactions between folks have made people uncomfortable, be it relentlessly making fun of Bakalar (even good naturedly) on the Beastcast, or Dan making it clear many times over he has difficulty functioning as an adult.
It's criticism that they can choose to accept or ignore, but that's on them.
Since y'all won't watch JoJo's, you should watch Iron Blooded Orphans, which is far and away the best Gundam. It has fantastic action, it's heartbreakingly sad, it discusses the finer points of familial love and expresses several different functioning polyamourous relationships, and has a couple of great gay relationships. It's the best cast of characters I have seen in any show, let alone anime.
Did I mention it's sad beyond all belief, and if you don't feel like wanting to give up on the show several times I question your ability to feel anything.
Remember how Nintendo started with a cool looking mech game, then ended with three days of Super Smash Bros. Arcade Edition? Imagine if Capcom tried selling Super Street Fighter 2/4 as an entire new game, or Ultimate MvC as a new game.
Smash ports being the showstopper sure is a thing.
