Would "Hyrule Warriors" count?

The first one was a fun diversion, but I enjoyed the story and characters of "Age of Calamity" head and shoulders more than the core BotW game.

I'd count it. Solid story that's canon or not, Hyrule Warriors are not mainline Zelda games AND they're like Dynasty Warriors spinoffs too.

Fallout New Vegas is technically a spin-off and it's best game in the franchise as far as I'm concerned.

Definitely my answer.

@shagge: Ah, right. Easy for me to miss that in the tone of an internet comment, especially given how many times I've seen earnest uses of the argument, but my bad nonetheless. It's not that poor of a playthrough, but as I said before I think everyone's already a bit frustrated with him, which just makes it that much easier for people to get upset when he messes up. I mean, I even heard people outside of the community allude to that infamous Yooka-Laylee video. Little recollections like that probably won't be leaving any time soon.

The boss fight was pretty bad though, and not even necessarily when it came to the TNT timing (which can be a bit irritating, honestly). He just kept jumping right into the damned path of the boss. The QL's ought to be edited at least somewhat, if only to mitigate the audience's frustration.

Wait, why are we saying Dan's bad this time? Other than missing the obvious with the boss fight and a couple of other bits, he was playing this a lot better than various others I've seen, and I'm talking about folks who are by any metric pretty good at games.

Or is this more of a "He's played for almost an hour, and he's not 100% perfect yet! I finished the whole trilogy in 15 minutes!" thing?

Why does this particular defense always pop up whenever someone's accused of being bad at a game? It has nothing to do with superiority complexes or people trying to show everyone how amazing they are at the game; it has everything to do with how unenjoyable it is to watch someone spend significant portions of their demonstration of the game performing terribly. I'm here to see how the trilogy turned out, not to tolerate Dan's inability to not jump directly into the path of the boss and / or the TNT. The rest of the Quick Look really wasn't that bad, but watching the boss fight really was frustrating enough (for me, at least) to understand the complaints. Plus, part of the reason why people might be less forgiving this time around is because the Ripper Roo bit is far from his first (or worst) poor performance, and some users aren't thrilled with the trend. Still like Dan, though, don't get me wrong.

On a different note, the Crash 1 hate in this thread is really rough. It was a good game then and it's a good game now, some dated mechanics and general jankiness aside.

Doesn't look as bad as I expected, but doesn't look good either. Definite pass for me.

Really having a blast with this one. I miss some of the removed planets and the full-circle plotline (read: starts and ends on Veldin), and I've never cared for Nefarious, but I suppose the changes will probably all tie up well with the upcoming movie.

Also, everyone needs to calm down about the 4-star thing. This is Giant Bomb. A game has to do something really, REALLY special to warrant the perfect score here, and their 4s are pretty solid in my book.
