@ProfessorEss: I am not sure Sony doesn't allow access to the gamer card. Their are site out there, like PS3trophies.com, that will has the ability to show my gamer card and allow me to compare with other gamers on the site. It would be nice if GiantBomb would do this as well.

@Gizmo: I understand. Before Hulu and Netflix came to the PS3 I was a heavy torrent downloader.

Ok here is a rant.
It seems to me that there is some kind of stigmata around people who play PS3. I don't know what the problem is with enjoying a console that does what I want. I read a couple different websites (Joystiq, IGN, GiantBomb, and Goolge News) for my video game news and have found that there is a imbalance (or at least I feel there is). I also listen to all of the standard gaming podcast (Joystiq, IGN, CAG, RoosterTeeth, GiantBomb...), but I don't hear the same level of "fandom" for the PS3. Joystiq doesn't even have a PS3 podcast. It seems that in the gaming world it is ok to trash Sony for business practices and customer support, but not Microsoft.  But I am a Sony PS3 gamer and would really like to hear or read about cool things in Home or about the cool games that are on the PSN. Now IGN Beyond seems to be the only podcast out there for PS3 gamers. And notice I keep using the word gamer and not fan. I stop listening to the Joystiq Xbox podcast because it got to "fanboy" for me. Playstation Home is a fun area to play in, Netflix and Hulu on the PS3 are the only way to watch any TV, and shut up about the PS3 updates. Here we are in a time when we can buy a game that has glitches (all games have glitches) and the developer can fix them later. Thats great for gamers. So we have to download a patch, so what. Would it be better if the games never got fixed. I was listening to a podcast the other day (can't remember which one) but they were complaining about having to update all of their PS3 console to play a game during Extra-life weekend. Well, if you turned it on more often than once every three months, maybe you wouldn't have to do so much updating. I signed up for Playstation Plus and think its a great deal. But if you listen to some of the podcast out there, it's the worst rip off you can pay for. I don't hear anything about the highway robber of XBOX Live, 60 bucks a year so you can play the games online when you have already paid for the part of the game when you bought it. Microsoft does not add any code to the game to make it playable online. It's already on the disk.
I just think that it has become "ok" to trash PS3 and PS3 gamers. You know what, I have over 1100 Trophies and I am proud of ever one. But people on this site will never know because GiantBomb doesn't have the Playstation Trophy sync like it does for XBOX.
This is just a rant. I like to GiantBomb podcast and the Whiskey team of website are pretty awesome. I am just a PS3 gamer who is tried of being looked at as inferior because of my choice of gaming console.

With Halo Reach out and all of my online friends playing and asking me when am I getting the game so I can join in on the fun, I ask myself "Why do I still turn on the Xbox?" I have been with the Xbox since it's launch. I have been on Live for the last 4 years. But now I am finding it hard to continue supporting the Xbox. I have a PS3 and until the last few months it has always been nothing more than a BluRay player. That was until I found Uncharted (or I should say one of my "local" friends stopped by and made me play it). Now I have done nothing but play games on the PS3. I did not notice at first but the Xbox dashboard has become so polluted with junk and ads. I never really saw them before until I started using the XMB on the PS3. Clean and fast, able to get right to what I am looking for, the PS3 XMB reminds me of the old Blades of the Xbox 360.

After that I started to really think about the differences. The Xbox has great live support and the Party Chat is the only reason I get on the xbox. I don't play alot of the same games that my friends do but I can still talk to them as I play a RPG and they play FPS. But I had to make some choices about my spending and I decided that Xbox Live was not worth the cost. I know I was stupid but when I signed up I chose the monthly plan. Thats 7.99 a month. Thats what 96.00 a year. Almost twice the years price. But it was more than just the cost, it was what I was getting for the cost. I don't use Netflix on the xbox, I don't like facebook, and Twitter is not my cup of tea. Online play was all I am getting from paying 7.99 a month. "But its free on the PS3" I am told by my PS3 fanboy friends. So I started to play on the PS3 more and more and now I am a PS3 only gamer. I have gone back to Silver on Live and not missed it yet.

SO now looking back I have some questions. When a developer creates a game and spend time creating the Multiplayer part of the game, its on the disk. When you go to the store and buy the game for 59.99 it already has the multiplayer on the disk. You have paid for the right to play the multiplayer when you bought the disk, Right? SO if you have already buy the disk with teh mulitiplayer on it, what are you play xbox live to do? give you the right to access the multiplayer? To connect to other players? I thought that the companies ran their own servers. Thats why they can turn them off or drop support (EA). And the same game on the PS3, mulitplayer build in on disk I can jump right on the online and play. No cost. Why? What exectly dose Live get you that PS3 online doesn't? I have played COD4,5 on both consoles and the only real difference I can see is that more people on Xbox have mics. And is that really a problem? So what does paying for Xbox Live get me?

When I ask some of my Xbox friends, they get all fanboy and tell me that paying for Xbox Live gets my a set of Balls and shit like that. SO I guess I am looking for other peoples opinion as to why they do what they do. I my sound like a PS3 fanboy but trust me that when Fable 3 come out I will have a new Xbox 360 with a new controller. And yes it willbe the 6th one I have bought.

I would like to hear the opinions of people on which is a better deal. Not which is better... but instead for the money which is a better deal. In case you don't remember XBOX Live = 59.99 a year and PS3 Plus = 49.99 a year. What does that buy? Why should we give our money to one of these corps? I will give my opinion after I get a few replies.

I hope that the free DLC will be extended to the PS3. How can you fail at getting the online play working after all of this time? It didn't work on the xbox when the game came out and now what two months later the same problem on the PS3! Really? Would the same fix on the XBOX work on the PS3?

As soon as I heard the podcast about them going to a paid model I signed up for a full year. I really like the show (Bombcast) and wanted to support them but now that they have gone back to being free... I feel a little cheated. I am an iTunes listener and never visited and of the Whiskey family websites (and still don't) but I wanted to support the Podcasters. Being an amateur podcaster myself I understand the work and need for funding. So I can say the only reason I paid for a full year upfront was for the Bombcast. So its free for everyone now... I just feel a little cheated.

I have ANOTHER blog. really why do we have to have a different blog for every site we are part of. Roosterteeth, Giantbomb, ModernProblem... I really don't have enough to say for three blogs.
