OK, it's pretty obvious that you people lock down on a certain word I wrote and take this the wrong way. I don't want to kill people. But I have felt rage when I've met people who did bad things to me, were extremely annoying or such. Also, it's natural that people won't write about openly here, because these feelings are so supressed in today's society. We're raised to be "civilized" from we're born. We learn as kids that it's wrong to fight and punch each other, even though we often do that as a response to when we don't like other kids.
Also, I've yet to see explanations WHY the characters and the gritty world of GTA is so interesting. WHY does it have to use so much drugs, theft and violence? If that doesn't matter, then why is the world of GTA full of it? And WHY are people so, as some of you described it, "fascinated" by horror movies and other violence? If you really dislike something, you don't want to watch it. There's something about it that you like. My theory about horror movies is that people want to experience excitement because the civilized world we live in is so dull that we rarely have any true excitment in it. We wake, go to work, pay ur taxes, get home and sleep. That is the standard life of many, but it has not been that way for very long if you look at the history of mankind. That's why we still have these basic instincts which shows through in various ways, either when it comes to games or when it comes to movies or other entertainment.
For example, certain TV shows about gladiators, which contains extreme violence and men doing women openly for fun, was a very popular series (forgot the name of it). Of course, you got say it became popular because it had "an interesting story and fascinating characters", but then you simplyfy it way too much as usual. WHY was the story so interesting? WHY did civilized people want to see uncivilized slaughter of people, gushes of blood and sex acts where women are used as animals? WHY was it so facinating?
Maybe it's time to step down from the high, civilized horse some of of you are sitting on, and start to think more deeply as to why the gritty world of GTA attracts you more than the civilized world of The Sims. 2001, when the Sims was new, EA estimated that 60 % of its players were girls.

When Animal Crossing: New Leaf was released in Japan, Iwata said that the game had an unusual amount of girls playing. Feminists and other people who seriously believe girls and men play the same games must not have followed studies, or noting which gender most people in the GTA or CoD que was of. Girls generally dislike violence and competition - something that men love. In Sweden and South Korea, e-sport is huge. How many girls do you see there? Almost none - it's only guys. And that's not because they lock out girls, girls are simply not interested. They have their own forums and their own communities.
You people need to think about this a lot deeper than you seem to do. It's not enough to just say it's "interesting", you must always think about WHY it's interesting. What is the founding factor that make this world or this character interesting to me? You often don't come up with answers to such questions in a minute - you have to sit down and think for a while.
