It was surreal listening to Dan describe his thoughts on Witcher 3 and in my mind I instantly said "Man, that's exactly how I feel about MGSV." I am even pondering putting that game on the shelf and either just taking a break (since I'll have the new AC game around the corner and it's not like there's a story I need to remember) or maybe just accept that the game didn't end up being a game for me all the way through it and move on.
Also, it was years ago I saw Event Horizon, I should check that out again. I hardly remember it.
That main menu is sleek as hell. I quite appreciate what this game is doing with color. Although I am not sure how keen I am on the "let's fake you wearing a helmet" UI, but maybe that's a Halo thing. Looks like a good time for Halo fans though.
First off, official skate maps shouldn't look as uninspired and boring as user created ones. They just shouldn't. Also, didn't anyone learn you don't make a map filled with 90 degree turns, blocky geometry and fail state borders? Looking at this game I am beginning to wonder if I ever liked Tony Hawk games at all or if I was just in some form of denial until I played Skate and saw how you actually shape a world worth skating around in.
But more than that, this just looks extremely boring. Everything about it looks like one big shrug. I wasn't expecting much, but I never expected this.
