here is my list for the games of the year for 2010. these games not only made a standing impression on me as a gamer and i remember them for giving me hours and hours of great fun and enjoyment. i highly recommend all these games to all gamers. celebrate them for they are games that deserve to be remembered.
what is there to say that hasn't been said about this game. it is outstanding from start to finish and even though the ending is a bit janky, overall it is a great advancement of the series. the changes made from the first game to this one are greatly noticeable and it just seems like bioware can do no wrong. i have great hopes for the 3rd game and i look forward to making time to go back and play this game through many more times before then.
brotherhood kept me busy. almost as busy as mass effect 2 did and that's saying something. 23 hours was put into that game from my life and i enjoyed every part of it. it's a great continuative game for the series and the story has become that much more intriguing because of just the way they keep you guessing even when you fully think you've figured it all out. this series is at a point where it can still improve but this shows that the team at ubisoft knows that fully and is willing to take risks that others wouldn't think would work. they made them work and they work great.
this game came out at the beginning of the year with bayonetta and i remember renting both of them having good expectations for bayonetta and knowing nothing about this game. little did i know that it would turn out as one of my most favorite games of 2010. the story and overall feel of the game took hold of me in a way that i hadn't felt outside of the zelda universe. i loved this game from start to finish and i hope this series doesn't get forgotten by gamers because this series truly is a gem. go buy this game and give it the support it deserves.
halo: reach is a beast unto it's own. it's a game that i know if i take a break from that i can jump right back into without much difficulty. halo has always been a series that i could depend on for good fun with friends and a solid story and fun gameplay. the amount of stuff given to the players in halo: reach is far and above what most first person shooters would ever think of offering to the player base and it pays off big. bugie did good in their sendoff game and i hope for the best for 343.
shocker! an iphone game on my list!!! this game is bar none one of the best games on the iphone to date and deserves so much recognition. this game got me to actually stop playing console games for a time because it was so addicting. this game has it's limits but hopefully with the sequel, it will become so much more fleshed out. i can't wait to see what the future has in store for this game series. go buy this game if you haven't yet. you won't regret it.
this game gets a bad rap for the dumb AI and the voice acting my ironsides. not to say that isn't all true but this game is alot better than people give it credit for. when i played this game, i really did feel like i was the black panther in the shadows kicking ass and tearing through my victims like a badass. does it have it's problems? hellz yea. lol is it fun though?? you betcha! this is a fun game all around and it's a good turn for the series as a whole.
singularity isn't so much a top game but it's one of the more memorable games for me. the story was solid. the gameplay was fun. the guns felt good and the abilities were intriguing in a good way. this game has it's flaws but they are minor. this game shows raven still has what it takes to make real solid games that can leave a good feeling with you after you have finished them. makes me wish they'd get back the ultimate alliance series and make the game they were going to make after the first one. this game is a solid return to good form for raven and i would recommend it to gamers all over.
this game is hokey as all get out. lol HOKEY HOKEY HOKEY!!! but man is it fun. the story is very well written and the character interaction is really great. combat can get tedious but the story moves along the game in a way that the combat is something that gamers can really just look over and adapt to. the rock stage standoff is one of my most favorite game moments of 2010. i dare anyone to play that part and say they didn't have one bit of fun. give it a chance. it's worth the playthrough.
i know i'll prolly get flack for this pick but this game even though it has it's issues is very solid from top to bottom. the game as a whole leaves something to be desired but it also is just a fun nostalgia run from beginning to end. seeing all the characters you knew from your childhood be running around in the game side by side with you is a fun experience to be had and being a transformer always alot of fun.
yes. i picked this game over limbo, super meat boy, monday night combat, and many other downloadable games but it's my pick because this game was good fun at a solid price and with plenty of fun. the atmosphere of the game was something to be admired and the love and care poured into this lil game is felt throughout. the game has a charm that can't be denied and it shows that tim schaefer and the team at double fine are the team to go to if you want funny. the game isn't hard at all and even though it is short, it felt right. give double fine some love and try it out. you'll be surprised how much fun you'll find in this game even just from the little things in it.
