@madmatt213: thank you! every single neighbor within sight burns leaves and illegal debris, many times unattended, and sometimes at night unattended. We are residential, but unincorporated. It's nasty and toxic, but i think these yokels just don't know or understand or care about the outdoor burning laws, or red flag days etc. We have free yard debris removal services but nah lets burn. We report them to the fire department because that smoke permeates and we can smell it inside our house and we now have a newborn. So yes, fuck them. If you live on your own stretch of land with no close neighbors, go crazy.
Shocked GerstTakes didn't play Iconoclasts this ep. It's pretty painful to watch when opinions are doggedly presented as axioms. Real "Me vs the world, baby!" energy going on here. Slowly backing away from this.
@onemanarmyy: yeah, i played dota while hots was in beta and it just didn't appeal to me at that time. I was aggressively opposed to it in fact! But i gave it a shot around it's release with the most compelling reason being shorter game time and it totally won me over. It is insane the amount it has changed since release/beta. A new character has come out every 3 to 4 weeks since then which is an exciting aspect to me that keeps the meta from getting too stale. (Although i do understand why that wouldn't be appealing to some, that would rather have stability over novelty in their moba.)
Most of all, it wasn't too daunting for my friends that would have never picked up dota. My choice at the time was: Play dota solo or play hots with a 5 stack?
The map objectives become second nature and sometimes it is strategically important to ignore obj to push or soak. Blizz is actively making sure the maps arent exploitable or the obj isnt completely meaningless, and there will always be unorthodox strats.
