  • Good video game. It's not perfect; FromSoft games never try to be, and that's part of why they work so well. One of the most open-ended and enthralling open-world RPGs ever.

  • Masterful puzzle design, and the combat managed to keep me entertained throughout despite initial concerns that it might get in the way. An absolute delight to unravel.

  • Splooooooosh.

  • In some ways they softened the edges on this from the first and I dunno if I prefer that, but it still sits right alongside it as one of the best X-COM games ever made.

  • I don't necessarily have quite as much affinity for the era Signalis replicates as some do, but the story it tells and the ways in which it does that are still incredibly compelling.

  • Wrote this off early on but when you get a bit deeper into the campaign it starts doing some ridiculous things. A surprisingly fun ARPG for fans of overtly horny nonsense.

  • The overtly horny nonsense didn't bother me here as much as some; that said, the action is by far the star, and it's just as much fun to play as it looks like when you watch it.

  • It's a third Splatoon. In some ways that means it's Game of the Year, but it really is just straight-up more of the same and that takes away some of the potential wow factor.

  • Technically messy, but they've yet to make one of these that I disliked and my time with Scarlet and Violet has been largely positive. Might be higher had I played more so far.

  • I don't care that much for Disney, or for Animal Crossing, yet I've played a surprisingly large amount of Disney Dreamlight Valley. It's a very pretty, upbeat Skinner box.

  • Sunbreak - pushing out of top ten as it's a DLC thing.

  • Chaos - I can't stand Chaos.

  • Not the first of its type, but the incorporation of notable names from the metal world makes for some really cool concept songs that transcend their restricted time signatures.

  • Extremely good game, and it was good to see how broad it hit with people. Not the first or only of its type but one of the most compelling aesthetically, which matters for a game like this.

  • I like Stray. I don't think it's amazing, but I like it. More cat games, please.

  • I really enjoyed MultiVersus for a couple weeks, then just never went back.
