So after the Dark Souls petition was successful...why not do it again for a game a lot of people would also love to play on their PCs?

As of now there are 1182 signatures, but maybe we can add a few more? It feels like the right time to do it.

Red Dead Redemption for PC [Petition]
Precisely the wrong time. They have very little incentive to do it. I'd buy it, but I'd love a new Phoenix Wright game every year. Never going to happen.
Start early and do a petition for a decent version of GTA V on PC. I'm not a fan of petitions generally, but the Dark Souls one made sense. It demonstrated that there was a sizeable market to a publisher that had no prior indication of one. Rockstar has released PC games in the past, they have gone through the process and know what to expect from that undertaking in terms of profits. They have enough to develop and market in the coming year.

The Dark Souls petition was successful because the developers themselves encouraged fan response. Rockstar doesn't give a shit about online petitions.

its all very well doing a petition but if those signitures do not translate into sales then its pointless.
i guess we will see how the PC version of Dark souls goes. lets hope the PC gamer buy it and dont fuck it all up by pirating the shit out of it.
Certain people will pirate it regardless, just like people will pirate the console versions regardless. It's whether the devs can come to terms with that and realise those aren't lost sales. I doubt the game sold that well on console, being niche as fuck. Hopefully they'll stick it on Steam and that'll get them a shit tonne of exposure. I also doubt the port will have cost them much money, unless they outsourced.
And as unrealistic as a RDR port might be, I don't see how signing a petition, that could potentially allow more people to play a great game (I own the PS3 version and would buy it again), could ever be a bad thing. <- To all the negativity in this thread. :)
that site is pretty shit. The link to their terms of service is broken. and they don't let you add comments to yr signature.
also, why do they need my postal code.

You call negativity what most would call realism. Focusing just on the success of the Dead Souls petition (which, again, was backed up by the developers to begin with) doesn't suddenly invalidate the countless other failed petitions. Face it: companies don't give a shit about online petitions, especially if they are about bringing a game to PC. Piracy is way too big a issue for them.
I wanted RDR on the PC. Instead the PC got L.A. Noire. I'm guessing that the L.A. Noire codebase was just that much easier to port to Windows and DirectX? *shrugs*
Maybe the technical hurdles are different for porting something like L.A. Noire to the PC, compared to Red Dead Redemption. They aren't even using the same engine, to the best of my knowledge. Maybe those hurdles are high enough that it isn't worth the cost to port. But in my mind, Red Dead Redemption would have the potential for more sales than L.A. Noire, because the prospect of an open-world Wild West seems so much more marketable than a series of noir detective stories.

The 360 uses DirectX. There are no technical hurdles.
Well, all the "realists" said that about "Dark" Souls and I'm pretty sure most people thought it was a useless petition back then as well. However, as I already stated before, it's veeeeeeeeery unlikely and I'm not even being overly optimistic about it myself... it's just something that can't cause any harm, despite what some weird console fanboys think (I'm not saying that you are one of those guys, it just crossed my mind). But that's a whole different story, those people are as stupid as PC fanboys.@emem said:

Piracy is always an issue, but hmm maybe you should read this. Piracy does cost them money, but they would probably still make a profit (even Alan Wake did, as I said before). Why do you think pretty much all new games are multi platform (PC as well) games?
And companies do give a shit about petitions, petitions work as long as enough people support them.
Won't happen but I signed it anyway. And if the terrible GTA IV port is any indication, it probably wouldn't be a great port, either. Not that that would stop me from playing it, mind you.
Rockstar won't do it, this is something I would rather not see and would rather have them focus on the future.
I certainly wouldn't mind RDR on PC (just could not get along with the controls on console and there were a few points where I wished for a quicksave and ended up deciding I'd rather play other games with my time) but it does seem like too much time has gone past and R* seemed uninterested by the prospect. That said, we've got new consoles coming so maybe a HD+ edition with some new content, better textures, and a PC version (like the Bully re-release) might be possible; but I'd bet that is based on desire for a console release and not on the viability of the PC (and the few million people who might buy it there).
1. Will never happen
2. If it did, it would suck
3. Rockstar has better things to do
4. Seriously, that will never happen. Rockstar doesn't do things just because we ask them to.
