    A Shinigami in the 13th division of the Gotei 13, whom during her time training to become a Shinigami was adopted into the Kuchiki clan. She becomes a pivitol character through introducing Ichigo Kurosaki to the spirit realm. Her zanpakuto is called Sode no Shirayuki. She is the adoptive younger sister of Byakuya Kuchiki, Captain of the Sixth Division. She is best friends with Renji Abarai and Ichigo Kurosaki. Her mentor was Kaien Shiba, the former lieutenant of the Thirteenth Division.
