Ok. So I found an old Sega Genesis at a yard sale. It was pretty dusty and looked like someone spilled soda on it. Now me and my girlfriend took it apart and really cleaned it up.

It came out looking nice. The only bitch was the wire going from the power light to the console. That thing is not coming off.

The controllers on the other hand were pretty dirty. But the inside looked very clean. So I'm lucky there.

Now here's my problem. After cleaning it up and making it look good, the power looks like it doesn't come on. All I have is the power adapter for the console and no RF unit. Is there a way to tell if the power is working? There's no fans in the console or any other light. I'm thinking maybe the power light is just burnt out. If it's not that then does anyone know how to get the power working? Any help will work.

Did the previous owner play with it in the yard or something?
That looks like Dirt, not soda.

That's the first series of that console. While not strictly fragile, they couldn't survive the nightmare that that's been through. Get an RF and have a look by all means, but I think you're going to have to lay it to rest.

I did a little research. Turns out that the power adapter is the wrong kind. Maybe not enough power going to it. But when we opened it up it was pretty sticky. It's all cleaned up now. Looks good as new. I also did a search on craigslist and the only RF switches I found are the ones with the consoles people are selling.
