Sega is a long-running Japanese company responsible for arcade hits like Space Harrier, home consoles like the Dreamcast, and franchises such as Sonic the Hedgehog.
Sega teases a new game....
" It counts down in minutes if you pull the lever again to refresh it.Jackpot can be put thematically to both Sonic and NiGHTS, as both games have special stages involving minigames like these.
I also found this:name="nights"I've never played a nights game though, so i don't know if it links thematically at all with this 'jackpot' site. "
Sega, yet another teaser?, oh surprise...
" Oooh. I'd like a new Nights... But more developed than the last one...Edit: Where did you see the nights thing? I don't see it? "Oh weird, i just looked again in the source code. This section is near the bottom:
<embed src="jackpot.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="945" height="559" name="supermonkeyball" align="middle"
As you can see it's now changed to 'Super Monkey Ball', but it was nights previously. Perhaps the code is changing after certain intervals along with the timer to keep everyone guessing, making the actual game seem like a random draw from all these games, kinda fitting in with the theme of this lottery-style machine.
And yet another countdown of some sort surfaces...
So how much you guys wanna bet that the game they're gonna reveal will be revealed before the countdown ends via a leak or something like that? I mean, that's what's happened when this been tried before by other publishers, so I imagine the same will happen here.
" @Al3xand3r said:Now we can finally get that sequel to Sega Superstar's Tennis that we've all been dying for?" Oooh. I'd like a new Nights... But more developed than the last one...Edit: Where did you see the nights thing? I don't see it? "Oh weird, i just looked again in the source code. But I seriously hope Sega can still put something good out with one of its old properties instead of another half-assed "re-imaginings".
Seems like it's going to be another "retro collection" you know collection of games brought back, supermonkeyball, nights, blah blah.
Sega hasn't really delivered anything good in a while so I won't be surprised if it's nothing.
" So it could be anything. "I think it could be a countdown. The last digit always decreases each minute, so it's in the format of Days:Hours:Minutes. There announcing something soon.
" I'm guessing another Phantasy Star MMO. "
I want the first Phantasy Star MMO lol PSO/U/P has never felt like an MMO to me just an online enabled action-RPG. Though if it was another PSO game then I wouldent be unhappy though I wouldent be especially happy since id rather they gave a new game completely or a new entry into an old respected franchise (Streets of Rage 4 with SoR1,2,3 included?).
Though saying that a true Phantasy Star MMO sounds awesome to me, especially if it was released on consoles as well as PC in a similer fashion to FFXI (which I personally felt worked especially well on consoles).
Guess well find out soon, anyone care to translate the numbers (as they are counting down apparently in minutes) and tell everyone when the countdown will be finished? I tried myself but am not very good at it and always come up wrongly.
Er, if it's minutes then it's not hard lol... Just divide by 60 to find the hours, then by 24 to find the days. 22 days.
Edit: Well, I guess it doesn't work that way cos now the same math gives me 8 days. Lol.
Also, the "name" field now includes already announced games like Jambo Safari! so, I guess it's just random crap to confuse people.
